CoaT Text Adventure


    Outside of schoolwork, I have been developing the core of a text-based rpg dubbed Chronicles of a Traveler over the last year and a half when I find the time to sit down and get to work. Involving a customizable "job" system the game allows players to build the character around numerous styles of play and rewards them for game progression and exploration rather than the traditional experience grind, granting them additional customization options and points to allocate to their skills. While I enjoy working on it immensely, this games purpose is more of a way to self-teach myself a number of subjects including: simple AI logic, serialization of data, UI development, complex data types, script management and so on.

    While it is still rough and needs more content, at the core it is a dynamic, easy-to-navigate interface for a highly adaptable rpg that allows players to tackle situations through their own means while still presenting a challenge.
